Suspect arrested in deadly shooting in Aurora, police cite road rage

A suspect has been arrested in connection to a fatal shooting in Aurora.Arturo Moreno Torres, 28, of Denver, was arrested Friday night on investigation of first-degree murder, according to an Aurora Police Department news release.The shooting happened May 1 in the 13100 block of East 13th Place, the Hoffman Heights area, according to police. The shooting stemmed from a road rage incident and the suspect and the 28-year-old victim did not know each other prior to the shooting.Anyone with information on the shooting is asked to call Metro Denver Crime Stoppers at at 720-913-7867 (STOP).

The 3-day Memorial weekend is here and many Californians and out-of-state visitors are kicking off the holiday with social gatherings, road trips and beach days, which means heavier traffic.The holiday weekend is known to bring increased traffic and car accidents throughout California. During this time last year, forty five people were killed in car crashes in California, a significant 30% increase from 2021, CHP said. In anticipation of increased traffic, the California Highway Patrol is heightening its police presence with the aim of reducing the number of fatal crashes during the holiday weekend. CHP implemented a California statewide Maximum Enforcement Period, employing all available officers, that began at 6:01 p.m. on May 26 and will run through 11:59 p.m. on May 29. During the MEP, officers will be assisting drivers, looking for traffic violations that could lead to serious injury or death, and making sure people are wearing their seatbelts. “The core mission of th...

(KRON) -- Three Alameda County employees are facing various felony charges in separate cases. The charges involved include falsification of records and performing sex acts on a minor, according to a press release from the office of Alameda County District Attorney Pamela Price.
