(FOX40.COM) — Former Google Vice President Lexi Reese announced she is ending her campaign to represent California in the U.S. Senate Tuesday.Reese cited the relatively low amount of money her campaign had compared to the three leading Democrats. As of the latest Campaign finance filing deadline at the end of September, Reese had raised a total of $1.8 million, around half a million of which she contributed herself. ‘Pull back from the brink’: Former Gov. Jerry Brown on China, homelessness and political polls Compare that to leading candidates Rep. Adam Schiff and Rep. Katie Porter, who have raised $21.5 million and $22.1 million, respectively. Rep. Barabra Lee has raised $3.4 million. "$2 million is just not enough to run a state-wide campaign," Reese said in the statement announcing the end of her campaign. "...Career politicians have institutional, press, and Party support that is very difficult to replicate as an outsider."Reese called for term limits and said that the ...Georgia Supreme Court Blocks GOP Attack on Trump Prosecutor — For Now

On Wednesday, Georgia’s highest court effectively blocked legislators from using a new law to remove the prosecutor who indicted former President Donald Trump. The law is one of more than 30 introduced in recent years — at least six have been enacted — to make it easier to remove or restrict elected prosecutors who lawmakers disagree with, particularly targeting those district attorneys implementing criminal justice reforms and prosecuting police misconduct. The order said that the court would not review proposed rules governing a new commission with the power to discipline and remove elected prosecutors, including Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis, who indicted Trump. Without such a review, the agency can’t operate. “While we celebrate this as a victory, we remain steadfast in our commitment to fight any future attempts to undermine the will of Georgia voters and the independence of the prosecutors who they choose to represent them,” DeKalb County District ...‘They will take care of this nation’: Military nonprofits hold friendly competition for ‘bragging rights’ on Giving Tuesday

HELSINKI (AP) — Finland said Tuesday it will close its last remaining border crossing with Russia amid concerns that Moscow is using migrants as part of “hybrid warfare” to destabilize the Nordic country following its entry into NATO.Finland already had shut seven of the eight checkpoints on its 1,340-kilometer (830-mile) border with Russia this month following a surge in arrivals of migrants from the Middle East and Africa. Helsinki has accused Moscow of ushering them toward the frontier — through thick forests in the south to the rugged Arctic landscape in the north.“The government has decided to close all the crossing points on the entire eastern border,” Prime Minister Petteri Orpo told reporters, saying Finland faced an “exceptional” situation that the government blames on Moscow for orchestrating. “Finland has a profound reason to suspect that the entry (of migrants) is organized by a foreign state. This deals with Russia’s influencing operations and we won’t accept it,”...“Machirulo”, “perreo” o “chundachunda”: estas son las nuevas palabras reconocidas por la Real Academia Española
