There could be help on the way for the Vikings’ offensive line. After multiple reports surfaced on Monday that the Vikings were bringing Dalton Risner in for a visit, head coach Kevin O’Connell confirmed Tuesday that the 28-year-old is indeed in Minnesota.Though it’s unclear if the Vikings will sign Risner, the fact that he’s being considered as an option seems significant.“That group is off to a really good start in training camp,” O’Connell said. “We’re always looking for ways to find good football players when they’re available. We really just wanted to bring him in and get to know him a little bit better, use the process of a visit to do that and see if we can possibly take what we think is a strong group and make it even better.”Logistically, the Vikings haven’t yet seen Risner on the field. The point of the visit was to get to know Risner while also getting him familiar with people around TCO Performance Ce...Forest Rangers conduct rescues at Kaaterskill Falls

Gov. Ron DeSantis’ administration is asking a federal appeals court to largely put on hold a ruling that blocked a new law aimed at preventing children from attending drag shows. The state filed a motion Friday at the 11th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals that said U.S. District Judge Gregory Presnell of Orlando overstepped his powers when he issued a preliminary injunction that applied statewide against the law.Presnell’s ruling came in a constitutional challenge filed by the Orlando restaurant Hamburger Mary’s.The motion seeks a stay of the injunction while the DeSantis administration pursues an appeal at the Atlanta-based court. As part of its chairman’s desire to close its primaries to all but registered Republican voters, the Colorado Republican Party filed a lawsuit against the Secretary of State Jena Griswold in federal court Monday, seeking to invalidate a ballot measure passed by voters in 2016.The suit, filed on behalf of the party by the attorney who represented Donald Trump after his 2020 election loss, is the latest effort by some Colorado Republicans to push back against Proposition 108, which allows unaffiliated voters to participate in parties’ primary elections and help select general election candidates. The suit alleges that the ballot measure “harms (the party) and its members by infringing upon their rights of free speech and association.”A similar suit, filed by a handful of Colorado Republican officials, was dismissed by a federal judge shortly after it was filed in 2022. The same attorney, John Eastman, represented those officials in that case, too. This latest e...Residents of private community in Sunland growing frustrated with visitors to nearby wash

Residents of one neighborhood in Sunland are fed up with massive crowds visiting a wash near their homes. The wash is located off Big Tujunga Canyon Road near Oro Vista Avenue, the latter of which leads to a gated community. Hundreds have been seen parking their vehicles in a dirt pullout – which is not meant to be used as a parking lot – not far from residences, and even more people show up on weekends.
